FAVA and the Oberlin Public Library are partnering to bring this FREE workshop to the community. All materials will be provided. Registration required. The workshop will be held at OPL, 65 S. Main St, Oberlin.
Watercolors are one of the materials of choice for art teachers, because they are easy to use and easy to clean up! However, their kid-friendly nature belies their versatility for the serious artist! In part 1 of this class we will learn the basics of watercolors, how to blend colors, techniques, and the finer points on how a brush works. In the second part, we will work on a super awesome watercolor resist project, where we add crayons to the mix to create some truly eye-popping artwork!

Louis Cunningham
Louis Cunningham is a full-time elementary art teacher with Lorain City Schools, and this is his fifth year working with FAVA! Before moving to Oberlin, Louis lived and taught in New Jersey, where he grew up. He attended Montclair State University in NJ, where he received both a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art and a Master's Degree in Art Education. Louis is especially adept at illustration and cartooning, and his favorite medium is pen and ink, though watercolor paints are a close second favorite!
