Now in its 33rd year, the FAVA Photography Show is a biennial juried exhibition held in odd-numbered years for a 3-6 week period during the first half of the year. The exhibition alternates with a curated invitational photography exhibition held in even-numbered years, in order to present in greater depth the work of individual artists creating in the photographic medium.
Entrants to FAVA's Juried Photography Show who would like to be considered for an invitational exhibition are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and examples of work to: FAVA Exhibitions Committee, 39 S. Main Street, Oberlin, Ohio 44074
FAVA's Photography Biennial is a competitive exhibition open to residents of Ohio or its bordering states (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania or West Virginia).
Work must have been completed in the last 3 years. Any photographic process or subject matter; traditional or experimental techniques are welcome.
Work previously exhibited at FAVA is ineligible.
1. Prepare and Tag work.
Up to three entries person may be submitted.
Work should be mounted inside a window mat; a white or other neutral mat is suggested.
Work should be ready to hang - sturdily framed and wired.
A completed Entry Tag must be securely affixed on the upper left back of each work.
2. Complete all forms to be submitted.
An Entry form and a Return Card must be submitted.
3. Entry Fee (a significant portion goes towards cash prizes)
Nancy McEntee is Professor and Chair of the Photography & Video department
at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from Bard College and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Nancy is a recipient of a Creative Workforce Fellowship from the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture and an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship. She was awarded a residency at The Burren College of Art in Co. Clare, Ireland and has also received a Virginia Center For the Creative Arts Fellowship Residency. Her photographs are exhibited nationally and can be found in many public and private collections.
Jonathan Wayne is a native Clevelander whose background in forestry and geology informs both his photographic and sculptural works. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Cleveland Institute of Art in1988 and his Masters of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the Maine College of Art in Portland 2008.
In addition to the 2011 Creative Workforce Fellowship Grant, he was a 1997 recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Grant and the 2007 Maine College of Art Roderick Dew Travel Grant. He was also given a Golden
Light Award for the Top 100 Photographers by the Maine Photographic Workshops in 1997.

Awards are determined solely by the juror, including (but not limited to) the Luciano Architecture Award, the Geisel Mechanical Award, and the Kirtz/Van Nortwick Prize for Composition w/ Human Figure.
Awards are presented at the opening reception.
Sales will be encouraged; FAVA will retain a 30% commission. Artists will receive checks for the works sold within 30 days after the show closes.
