Beginning Drawing

Ages 10-14
This class is an introduction to drawing for children/teens ages 10-14. The class will introduce students to basic drawing skills, starting with lessons on drawing faces and idea mapping. We will also delve into fundamental skills like working on shading and light and how to look at photos with an artist's eye. All of this will be done with the intent of fostering a love of art and self-expression.
All supplies are included.

Mia Elkins
Mia Elkins is a studio art major at Oberlin College. She loves drawing and painting and is currently working on a collection relating to childhood imagination. She discovered her love of art through her inspiring elementary school art teacher and hopes to spread this joy to others. After years of teaching her young cousins drawing and a summer as a camp counselor, she’s excited to teach art this year.
FAVA reviews and considers all application for scholarship assistance. While we may not be able to provide a complete scholarship to all those who request it, we are committed to making our classes available to as many people as possible – regardless of individual financial circumstances. For this reason, it is important that all scholarship requests are received well in advance of the class starting date, so we may allocate our available funds accordingly. We may consider any of the following factors when determining eligibility for scholarships:
