Introduction To Rigid Heddle Loom Weaving
Ages 15+
Thursdays Jan. 30 - Feb. 13
5pm to 7pm
A rigid heddle loom is a great way to start weaving. They are simpler to warp than a four harness floor loom, and can produce many types of woven items like scarves, fabric to sew, hand towels, etc. The looms themselves are generally also more inexpensive. Over the course of 3 weeks, learn rigid heddle warping, (dressing the loom), and weaving. Discuss how to calculate yarn needs for a project, and various pattern ideas.
Please bring a sharp pair of scissors.
If you are going to bring your own loom, please contact FAVA for a Pre-Class loom conversation appointment with the instructor.
Looms will be available to use in the classroom in between classes. If students wish to borrow a class loom to take home in between classes there will be a 100$ deposit that will be returned on Feb 13 when the loom is returned.

FAVA reviews and considers all application for scholarship assistance. While we may not be able to provide a complete scholarship to all those who request it, we are committed to making our classes available to as many people as possible – regardless of individual financial circumstances. For this reason, it is important that all scholarship requests are received well in advance of the class starting date, so we may allocate our available funds accordingly. We may consider any of the following factors when determining eligibility for scholarships:
**FAVA also encourages applicants to consider partial scholarship assistance, in which case the student only pays some portion of the class tuition.
All information will be kept confidential and will be used solely to determine the amount of scholarship assistance to be provided.
