Ready for the Big Parade?
Posted on 03/02/16
Do you want to be in the parade? But, hmmmm, you need something to wear or move or become. Do you have a clear Saturday or two? Then show up at FAVA's art classroom where supplies and direction and fun abound! And since it's sponsored by Oberlin College, it's FREE, so Thank You OC!
Here's the Dates and Times for Parade Adventures:
Claudio started us off last Saturday with Mask-Making and some great creatures walked out that day. Yay to all who came and dove into the making!
Saturdays, March 5 AND March 12, 1:00 to 4:00 PM, with Ian Petroni
Big Big Big Puppets! Ian will teach you how to build the armature for your giant puppet. Design your puppet for 1-4 people to move it and then get to work!
Saturdays, March 19 & March 26, 9:00 AM to NOON, with Margaret Brock
Hand Puppets and Laundry Basket Theatres! We'll cut a hole in a laundry basket, step inside and pull it up around your hips. Yep, you can still walk. Now turn it into a spaceship, a forest, a castle! Then make paper bag and finger puppets to populate your laundry-basket-theatre for the parade. Don't want to wear a basket? No problem, just come and make puppets. Families are welcome!
Saturday, April 2, 3:00 to 5:00 PM, with Claudio Orso If you missed Mask Making, here it is again! Claudio has a cool pattern for paperboard helmets (think cereal boxes!): be a cat, a bird, a monster, a bug, or even a who-knows-what!
