Microcosm Workshop

Presented by Mark Yasenchack

(easy to do drawing lesson and easy to pursue further learning)

1. Watch the following video on YouTube from Journey to the Microcosmos

(they make a lot of videos of the world seen under a microscope, subscribe to watch more).

Meet the Microcosom:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS2mdmt4JPw

There is not a complete list of the organisms talked about on the video, some are labeled onscreen, but here is a resource to find out more about the creatures discussed in the video.

Look up “Marine Microorganism” topic on Wikipedia for more images and details
Look up “Jam_and_Germs” on Instagram

2. Pick another video from their collection to watch. There is one on Tardigrades (Moss Piglets)!!!!!!

3. Using any drawing tool (pencil, pen, marker, crayon or even paint brush) draw a Microorganism.
This can be a portrait of an actual microorganism from the video, one you found on wikipedia or an original one of your own creation, total imaginary. Label your drawing with the name of the organism (make up one if it is one you made up).

We would love to see the microorganism you created. Send to pam@fava.org[
