FAVA COVID - 19 UPDATE

Posted on 05/14/20

We, like everyone else, have been watching the news unfold about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and trying to determine what FAVA’s place is in all of this. We are deeply concerned for the health and well-being of our patrons, friends, and participants and want to ensure that we are being responsible members of the community in the face of this pandemic. For more information on classes and program changes please visit our website: https://www.favagallery.org/ Pause: Art in Waiting The shelter in place order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has become a time of reflection and re-evaluation in the face of limited access and supplies for many artists. Pause: Art in Waiting is an online exhibition of work by Ohio artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This online exhibition is open to Ohio art students, emerging artists and professionals. We will accept submissions of current works in progress, completed works from canceled exhibitions, and new works completed during the shelter in place order. All mediums are excepted. Curation will err on the side of inclusion since it is assumed that most people may have limited access to equipment, their traditional materials, and other resources right now. For more information and to apply, please visit: https://www.favagallery.org/exhibitio... FAVA’s Annual Fundraiser moved to online auction! As the Covid-19 situation continues to unfold and creates more uncertainty about when we’ll all be able to gather in person, FAVA has decided to shift our annual Fine Art and Fine Wine Fundraiser to an online event. This no-show fundraiser will feature whatever fabulous food and wine you happen to have at home, but will still have plenty of opportunities to purchase marvelous original art at fundraiser prices. The bidding will begin on June 20th and run through June 27th. In addition to all the great local art, we have a pizza package from Lorenzo’s, sports memorabilia, and a number of donated pieces made by national artists—including a Jim Wilcox original painting. You can visit the event website at https://e.givesmart.com/events/fj3/ --and while you’re there, please consider donating either to our scholarship fund or to our general fund, which allows us to use the money where it’s needed the most. If you haven’t purchased a ticket but planned to, and have the capacity to give, please consider donating that ticket amount to FAVA, either through the event website or via our regular site at https://www.favagallery.org/support-us. Thank you to all of the current ticket holders who have responded to my letter, and an extra special thanks to those who donated their full ticket amount. The staff and Board of FAVA are so grateful for your support. Socially Distant Art for All! While we all miss seeing you in person, we hope to keep you engaged in the visual arts. Here are some fun projects you can do at home to art your way through this pandemic. Check out new youth and adult projects, as well as interactive critique sessions and classes that will be added each week. Meet FAVA artist/instructors and guest artists from Northeast Ohio through studio tours, artist talks, and what they are creating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
