Students will receive a basic understanding of plant-based fiber and spinning it into yarn using a mini Turkish drop spindle. The drop spindle in various forms is present in almost every culture and is still widely used today. Yarn made on a drop spindle can be used to crochet, knit, weave or braid. A professionally made and well-balanced Snyder mini-Turkish spindle will be included for the student to keep. A generous amount of different fibers will also be provided for class and future use.
Students should bring a shopping bag to hold their spindle and fiber.
