Beginner/ Advanced Intaglio Printmaking Workshop.
February 3rd, February 10th from 10am-1pm.
Ages 14+
Do you enjoy reusing found materials? Learn a unique technique to render your images. Workshop artists will learn how to use tools to carve into small recycled boxes or plastic plates to create a reproducible image from drawings, photos, or other sources. They will learn the process of intaglio printing, including how to ink and wipe the plate so that the incised design is transferred to paper using a printing press. Students who have already taken an intaglio printmaking class will learn advanced techniques like adding a colorful mulberry background using chine collé and incorporating different materials into their plates.

While we may not be able to provide a complete scholarship to all those who request it, we are committed to making our classes available to as many people as possible – regardless of individual financial circumstances. For this reason, it is important that all scholarship requests are received well in advance of the class starting date, so we may allocate our available funds accordingly. We may consider any of the following factors when determining eligibility for scholarships:
**FAVA also encourages applicants to consider partial scholarship assistance, in which case the student only pays some portion of the class tuition.
All information will be kept confidential and will be used solely to determine the amount of scholarship assistance to be provided.
