Happy New Year 2019!

Happy New Year! It feels like 2018 was a blur of wonderful activity—new classes and old favorites, a remarkable Artist as Quiltmaker and quilt bombing, fantastic Member’s Show, and a whole host of other marvelous exhibits. Thank you for being a part of it—without all of you, FAVA would not be what we are today—a thriving community of artists and aesthetes who work together to change lives through the visual arts.
I recently sent an email asking what FAVA means to you—and feel a deep admiration and gratitude for your responses. I have heard from founding members, long-time teachers, students, and folks who want to take a deeper role in FAVA’s future. Thank you—for taking the time to write in, for your dedication to FAVA over the past 40 years, for your belief in your mission, and for your assertion that certain programs had better stay or else! JWe will post responses (with names removed) later this year on our website and will use your feedback as we move into planning for the future.
Some exciting things are coming to FAVA; some are still in the development stages, some waiting for funding answers from grant makers in the community—but know we are working hard to continually improve FAVA. One thing we areexcited to announce is the launch of our new website, which went live today. We hope you’ll log on and take a poke around—you can now renew your membership online, make donations, purchase items from the shop, buy gift certificates, and of course sign up for classes. You may need to use the “reset my password” function to log in, but the process should be smoother and the site will automatically give you member pricing as a FAVA member. We hope you’ll logon soon at www.favagallery.organd let us know what you think.
We also hope you’ll join us for our 40thAnniversary Gala on April 6th. Tickets are available now on our website. We will still enjoy live and silent art auctions, wine tasting by Gary Twining, and plenty of raffle items. This year’s party will include a full dinner, live music, and tabled seating for everyone. It will be a night to remember and will help us kick off the next 40 years of art excellence.
Thank you for everything you do for FAVA and for everything you’ve done to help us change lives through the visual arts. I look forward to seeing you soon.
